THE GUEST WORKER PROGRAM IS A SCAM

Carl F. Worden

I’ve been watching the Senate debate on the proposed Immigration Reform Bill, and right now various senators are proposing amendments to it, one of which is to reduce the proposed Guest Worker Program from 400,000 to 200,000 per year.

If it is one per year, it will be too many.

The primary proposal, regardless of numbers permitted, allows a guest worker to bring along his/her family and work in the U.S. for two years, then be required to return to Mexico or wherever for one year, then return to the U.S. another two years, etc.

First, the federal government is not enforcing existing immigration law, but these legislators are implying that if this new Immigration Reform Law is passed, all provisions of it will be strictly enforced. Based upon past performance and a refusal to enforce existing immigration law without any consequences, including the Democrats’ refusal to impeach the president or any other elected official for willful failure to enforce such law, we already know there is little chance the proposed law will be enforced either.

Just consider how expensive enforcing the proposed Guest Worker Program would be. Even with an amendment reducing the numbers to 200,000 per year, the feds would be tasked with running all over the nation trying to deport families that didn’t voluntarily leave at the end of the second anniversary date. And what about the children born to the families of illegal immigrants while they work here those two years? Those children will be citizens under the Constitution, so how will our government force those citizen children to leave when their Guest Worker parents are required to leave?

The only effective guest worker program we had previously was referred to as The Bracero Program, and it involved agricultural workers who would work in the U.S. only during the harvest season, then go home to their families in Mexico. While here, those workers stayed in farm and ranch barracks right on the farm or ranch property. That program worked very well.

And remember that these proposed 400,000 0r 200,000 guest workers per year would come here in addition to the estimated 12 million already here illegally and given a fast-track to citizenship over those people wanting to follow the rules and immigrate here legally.

There is something else to consider here: Right now, many employers will not employ illegal immigrants. We hear about all the ones who do, but not all the ones who obey the law. When this Immigration Reform Bill is passed, all those illegally here will suddenly be legally employable as they go through the process, and that means the previously illegal immigrants will be able to compete for the same jobs citizens have. Since the former illegals are willing to work for less, they will drive down the wage level for all the jobs they seek, and that will drive down the wages of the citizens who presently hold those jobs.

Some of the senators in the current debate are proposing strict, mandatory prison sentences for illegals who come back across the border illegally after being deported. Who is going to pay for that? Our local jails will be bursting while these people are awaiting trial and transfer to a federal prison facility, so once again, there is no reason to believe those “new” laws will be enforced any more vigorously than our current, valid and yet un-enforced federal immigration laws are now.

The whole thing is a scam intended to allow low-wage job seekers to compete with American workers for the benefit of Big Business. The main promoter of this Immigration Reform proposal is the United States Chamber of Commerce, and who do they represent? Why of course, it is the multi-national corporate interests who have proven time and again that they do not have any loyalty to the people of the United States – nor should they. The corporations are beholden to their shareholders, and any steps they can take to increase profits, no matter how many American workers lose their jobs to low wage replacements, is a corporate requirement – and not a choice.

Why Hasn’t Rudy Giuliani Read the 9-11 Commission Report?

ARLINGTON, VA – During the "First in the South" GOP debate in South Carolina last night, one thing was made clear: Rudy Giuliani does not understand how to keep America safe.

When Congressman Ron Paul, who has long served on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, explained how 50 years of American interventionism in the Middle East has helped compromise our national security, Giuliani interrupted saying he had "never heard anything so absurd." This statement is particularly troubling
coming from the former mayor who tries to cast himself as a security expert, since Dr. Paul's point comes directly from the bi-partisan 9-11 Commission Report.

"Rudy Giuliani has tip-toed around the issues of abortion, guns and marriage. The only issue he has left is security, and he doesn't even get that right," said campaign chairman Kent Snyder. "It is clear from his interruption that former Mayor Giuliani has not read the 9-11 Commission Report and has no clue on how to keep America safe."

Crisis Equals "Opportunity"

The agenda to move America into a totalitarian system, began with the creation of an atmosphere of fear in America, caused by a purported act of terrorism. Then, when the public mindset was properly conditioned with the fertilizer of fear, the seed would be planted in their minds that their liberty would have to be forfeited in favor of their security.......

ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS: AN OPPORTUNITY WASTED

Carl F. Worden
wolfeyes@hisurfer.net

Geez- Louise, are there any resourceful, bright minds left in the entire United States anymore?

Yesterday, 5/2/07, we had the very best opportunity we’ve ever had to sweep up a substantial number of illegal aliens off the streets of America, and we totally blew it.

Do any of you recall the sting operations conducted by a number of law enforcement groups throughout the U.S. where wanted fugitives were sent telegrams or letters advising that they had won this or that, and to show up at this big party to claim their prize? Their prize turned out to be a pair of handcuffs.

Yesterday, 5/2/07, we lost out on a marvelous opportunity to put these arrogant law-breaking illegal immigrants in their place, and we totally spaced the chance.

Here we had demonstrations nationwide, participated in by mostly illegal immigrants, and with foreknowledge of where these people would be concentrated in each major city! All we had to do was estimate the size of the crowd, less an estimate of the legal citizens who sympathize with the illegals, and line up the busses just out of sight with plenty of plastic handcuffs and enough gas to reach the Mexican border.

Would that have been perfect or what? Do that one time, and we put these “uppity” illegals in their place. Do that one time, and you won’t hear much from these jackasses who claim the southwest to be “theirs”. Do that one time, and you won’t have the City of Los Angeles facing an expensive legal nightmare for using excessive force against the demonstrators, because the demonstrators won’t be showing up to demonstrate anymore. They’ll be where they belong: Back in Mexico.

“We just want to have work and provide for our families” -- did you hear that crap? I could just hear liberal softie hearts’ breaking. But this writer, Carl Worden, has a special insight into illegal immigration. I know Tax Law and I know what is really happening in the United States regarding illegal immigration, because my Mother-In-Law happens to be a Nurse Practitioner at the Valley Medical Center In San Jose, California. Her job is to process eight, newly arrived women from mostly Mexico and South America, but also from other nations, every single workday.

These women deliberately arrive here 7.5 to 8 months pregnant. They know they will be welcomed and shown the door to all the benefits available, including food stamps, housing assistance, WIC and you name it. The Valley Medical Center has a welfare advisor in the lobby of the county hospital to facilitate these people – and they arrive knowing all these benefits await them.

Here’s the math for just the pregnant illegal women my Mother-In-Law processes daily:

Eight women per day X 250 workdays per year X $7,000.00 per birth with no complications = $14 million bucks per year for just the women my Mother-In-Law processes in just one county hospital in the U.S every year. Do you feel something sliding up the crack of your wallet?

These women arrive here with the same sob-story, knowing that Americans will pay for the birth of their baby in its entirely – even if the birth has complications. And to make it even more attractive, the moment their baby is born, it is legally an American citizen, and who wants to separate mother from child? Get the scam? No, you really don’t – not quite yet.

Have you ever heard of the Earned Income Tax Credit? It is a form of welfare that is intended to be granted to American citizens who don’t earn income above the established poverty level. Depending on how many children you have, it can amount to several thousands of dollars per year, tax free. Our illegal immigrant population knows how to play this game better than most American citizens.

Here’s how they play the game: If they are illegal, they get secondary identities that make them appear to be citizens eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit. If they have been granted immunity and citizenship in the past, they often obtain secondary identities that make them appear illegal. So no matter what the scenario, these people play the system. They get the benefits provided them by our socialist system if they are deemed illegal, and they get the benefits under their other identity as legal citizens if they want the Earned Income Tax Credit.

God, is this a great country, or what?? Sure, if you are an illegal alien.

To many American citizens, the connotation of “Illegal Alien” means downtrodden, poor and uneducated people who just want the chance for the American Dream. They have no idea these people are anything BUT stupid, and that they arrive here knowing how to play the system to its fullest in terms of personal benefit before they even get here. They do talk, you know.

Nobody appreciates a con-job - scam more than I do. I love diagnosing a con-job, especially if I can help somebody thwart one before it’s too late. But this illegal alien scam just about whips them all in every category, because just about nobody is directly hurt, and for all the world to see, the scam is perfectly legal.

No one, single person gets made the pigeon. The pigeons are all the taxpayers, and the con is hard to detect, let alone prosecute. The con-men and women come right up to the window with nothing to fear. As an illegal, they get their babies born on our dime, and as a citizen, they get to take advantage of the Earned Income Tax Credit. They earn their income under the table as an illegal, and they allow a small portion of their income to be reported as legal citizens to qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit – and all the while they tell the media they are contributing taxpayers!

No! In point of fact, they are parasites.

What, you don’t know about the Earned Income Tax Credit? They do! One year when I was disabled, my tax deductions were so high that I qualified for the Earned Income Tax Credit. I had paid NO taxes for the year, but I received a “refund” from the Treasury.

My first thought was that I’d made a mistake on my income tax return, and I wanted to fix it before the IRS came after me. I called my tax guy, who investigated and came back with this comment: “Carl, you won’t believe this, but you are poor”. “What do you mean”? said I, and my tax guy went on to explain that even if I paid no income taxes whatsoever, the “gubmint” had devised a way to pay me from the largesse of the Treasury to offset my “poverty” through the Earned Income Tax Credit.

The EITC is welfare, people! It is redistribution of wealth! It is a socialist program intended to help the needy legal American citizens, but the illegals posing as legal citizens have been gobbling it up right and left. When you hear some softie liberal tell you these illegal people work and pay taxes, only the most stupid of them do. In fact, it is fair to say most American citizens are less informed about how to work the American system than the average illegal immigrant.

Feeling even more stupid and gullible yet?

Yesterday was opportunity lost in multiple ways. We had the opportunity to affect attitudes and opportunity. We had the chance to save the taxpayers millions and probably billions of dollars. Except for the “victims” of excessive force in Los Angeles, everybody illegal went home unscathed, able and willing to continue to inflict their con-job on the American people the very next day.

And if the Southern Poverty Law Center or the ACLU has its way, the “victims” of the excessive force in L.A. will have won the equivalent of the lottery.

Is this a great country, or what?
