I think most of Government should … and can be … funded through Go Fund Me accounts.

Imagine having a Go Fund Me page for everything in Government. If you are a supporter of cotton and sugar subsidies, simply contribute to the Go Fund Me account that have been set up for them.  This way, you can put your money where your mouth is. Do the same for the Dept of Education, the City Park, and the Dept of Energy. If you think that a specific government program or agency are worthwhile, then contribute to the Go Fund Me account and put your money where your mouth is. The current system of taxation says that I must put MY money… where YOUR mouth is.

Funding Government through Go Fund Me accounts would ensure that the people that want specific things from Government, pay for those specific things. It would also ensure that people that are against those things, would not have to fund them. It would mean that pro-life people, would not have to fund abortions. No longer would anti-war folks have to fund the war machine. People that are against crop subsidies would not have to fund them. Etc etc etc.

It would mean that specific agencies and specific programs, are funded to the EXACT level that people want them funded.

It would be crowd sourcing, without the mandate.

It would be true Representative Government.
