Shock and Awe

September 11th Used as Catalyst for Assault on Bill Of Rights?

Lancaster, PA/ September 11, 2007: On the anniversary of the 9-11-2001 attacks, our country’s fastest-growing political party, the Constitution Party (Ballot Access News) encourages Americans to challenge the actions of the two parties controlling our government.

“The dreadful attacks of September 11th were just the beginning of more attacks against Americans. The horrific loss of life turned out to be the justification for both parties to annihilate the Bill of Rights,” said Constitution Party National Committee Chairman Jim Clymer. “As we remember the victims of September 11th, we do well to acknowledge the death of many of our freedoms as well”, Clymer pointed out.“ The police - state tactics put in place after September 11th through such blatantly un-constitutional vehicles as the Patriot Act mean our government has given itself a free pass to circumvent the Constitution. In short, the horrors we ascribe to third world dictatorships can and are happening here in the United States” added Clymer. “We’re witness to U.S. citizens vanishing into military prisons, torture becoming acceptable, de facto martial law, warrant-less wiretapping, eavesdropping by the government; essentially carte blanche to jettison every single freedom that distinguishes us from brutal dictatorships…all because “it’s war time”.

The Constitution Party, which is the country’s largest third party based on voter registration, (Ballot Access News) challenges Americans to question the heavy-handed dictatorial tactics both the Republicans and Democrats have allowed in the name of fighting the so-called “war on terror”.

Unauthorized War

The Constitution Party reminds Americans that the incursion into Iraq, presumably because of the events of 9-11, was based on false information and is a most egregious affront to the constitutional mandate that demands a declaration of war only by Congress, not the president.

“Keep in mind the American people voted one party out and another in because of the distaste for the Iraq war. Both the Republicans and Democrats supported this war at the outset and continue to do so. That should speak volumes about continuing to place confidence in either of these two parties”, Clymer noted, further warning Americans: “The time has come to recognize neither of the major parties has any intention of following the Constitution or telling Americans the truth about 9-11 and the Iraq war.”
